Celebrities flock to Fridays Atlantis take-off

Several big name celebrities were drawn to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida to witness the Atlantis take off for its final voyage to the International Space Station Friday morning.
Singer Gloria Estefan, Hercules star Kevin Sorbo, Fox News Geraldo Rivera, Apples Steve Wozniak and singers Diana Krall and Alan Parsons were some of the celebrities to make an appearance.
Politicians also came out to celebrate the historic moment, among them Florida Governor Rick Scott, Vermont Senator Patrick Leahy, California Representative Grace Napolitano, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke. reports HollywoodReporter.com.
Not to be left out, members of the Kennedy clan also came out for the event such as Ted Kennedy, Jr., Kiley Kennedy and former Lieutenant Governor of Maryland Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, notes Space.com.
The Atlantis lifted off at 11:26 EDT Friday en route to the International Space Station with four crew members on board who will conduct various experiments. This mission marks the culmination of NASAs space shuttle program.
