The issue of marriage breakup among Nigerian celebrities has been on for many years and it has now become the order of the day to see their marital problems brought to the full glare of the public with some of them trading words, especially in the media about who gets the blame why the marriage could not work.

The most unfortunate thing about the marriage of these celebrities is that during the good times, they usually have the best things to say about each other and the love is made in heaven, but within a year or two of some of these marriages, it is a different ball game entirely.

For two to three celebrities' marriages that have crashed, people have been fortunate to witness like others, where two of these female celebrities, whose marriage have crashed talked so lovingly about their spouses on TV, but not quite long after, the reverse is the case.

It is a fact that marriages crash everyday, even among non-celebrities, but nobody talked about them because they are not in the limelight. One of the celebrities whose marriage crashed once said that when you are in the public glare, there is a lot of temptation that comes your way because women and men will come and tempt you with what your spouse might not provide for you, especially for the female folk.

Below are some celebrities whose marriages have collapsed in recent time.

Frank Edoho and Katherine

Just last week, Frank Edoho, the celebrated anchor of 'Who wants to be a millionaire' Frank went on Twitter, one of the social networks that his marriage to Katherine, his wife of many years is over and it is not reconcilable because if he talks about what he went through before finally calling it quit, people would be surprised.

This might come as a surprise or not because for more than two years, there have been rumours of separation between Frank and Katharine and that she has moved out of their matrimonial home to another destination but somehow the problem was resolved through the effort of a family friend and there was the usual story that the wedding was still intact.

Early in the year another story hit the headlines again that Katherine has moved out of the family house and currently sojourned abroad, but again Frank came out and said he's still with his wife, but just a few weeks later, he said it's finally over.

The marriage of the Edohos, especially when Frank suddenly came into limelight with 'Who wants to be a Millionaire' could have been an inspiration to the younger generations. In one of the interviews, he talked so lovingly how his wife helped in making it possible for him to make it in life. Katherine, too also has many good things to say about her spouse.

One of the things that would be recalled and would have been a motivation for a stronger love life among the youth is the story of how they had to squat in a friend's house, who later asked them to leave. The question now is what went wrong between them? There have been stories of infidelity on both sides, wife battery on the part of Frank. Could it be as a result of sudden wealth?

Ara and husband, Nurudeen Saliu

The story of Ara, the drummer girl's separation from hubby, Prince Nurudeen Olalekan Saliu came as a surprise to many and to some, it might just be what they always expect from celebrities relationships.

Last month, she released a press statement about her separation from her husband of just about three years and said that it was a mutual separation and that they still remain friends. Before the separation and not quite long after she had her baby, one of the television stations interviewed her where she talked glowingly and passionately about her husband with pictures of her spouse displayed.

During the interview, she talked about her husband's family background endearingly. But recently, she said she has to painfully let everyone know that her marriage is now over and that is not all, it had been over since January.

Kenny Saint Brown and Eddy Montana

Another marriage worth talking about is that of Kenny Saint Brown and her former husband ex Remedies member, Eddy Montana.

The story of their love life before it culminated into marriage was like a whirlpool. Their affair started when Eddy and his former band members break even in the music scene. Then they were the toast of everybody, especially females who crowd them in admiration.

And more convenient for the relationship to work then was the fact that Kenny's brother, Kenny Ogungbe was the one whose record label the Remedies were signed on, so it could have been a platform for them to have become closer since Kenny too was signed to the same label.

And shortly, there was marriage and the hope for ever after because in one female programmes where Kenny was asked how she was able to keep her marriage going after seven years, like every woman would say, the love of God keeps the marriage going and that of her loving husband.

However, the story changed about a year later when their marriage crashed and the press had a field day reporting the breakup. So many accusations and counter accusations came up, such as Eddy claiming that his wife was having a lesbian affair with Essence who was a friend to her. He also accused her of infidelity, sleeping around with other men.

Eddy's wife also said many things about their separation, calling him a jealous man, a marijuana smoker and also sleeping and impregnating their house girl. All these accusations brought the question, "where has the love gone?" Was there love in the first place as they professed to each other in the onset of the relationship?

Monalisa Chinda and Dejo Richards

That of Monalisa Chinda and her ex husband, Dejo Richards as reported by people close to the couple was a marriage destined to die before it started.

It was said that at the onset of the relationship, Dejo was already married to another woman for six month before Chinda tied the knot with him and she was said to have been very much aware of the affair, though she claimed not to be aware of that in the beginning until her marriage with him.

The later claimed he was never married to another woman before her, but that his detractors were at work to destroy him. Monalisa was also reported to have suffered so much physical abuse from him.

If Monalisa was aware of the former hubby's marriage to another woman, will one say it is because of love or what his name could do to her growing popularity then or because of the pressure to get married to a man.

In one interview, Monalisa once said that Dejo was jealous of her because she was making money, especially from Glo, where she is one of the telecom network's ambassadors.
