Look for Courteney Cox on 'Dancing' premiere - USA Today
Cox, along with the couple's daughter Coco, will watch from the studio audience as Arquette works through the Viennese Waltz on the reality dance competition (ABC 8 ET/PT). DWTS representatives confirmed Monday that Cox is expected.
"We're both really dear friends despite being separated," Arquette tells USA TODAY. "We're both very involved with each other's lives."
Despite the fact that the couple separated last October, the professional relationship between the two has also continued without pause. Arquette says that last week he and Cox talked at length about an episode of Cougar Town that she's directing.
"We sat down and talked about directing a little," says Arquette. "And she showed me her (camera) shots and what she was thinking."
The two also continue to run a production company together, Coquette Productions. "We have a game show with Craig Ferguson that may be picked up by CBS soon," says Arquette.
Naturally, there's daughter Coco,7, as well ("we're co-parents," says Arquette). Now that the show's producers have lowered the age to six for celebrity children to attend the show, she too will be cheering her father on.
Despite the support, Arquette knows he has stiff dancing competition from a field that includes pal Ron Artest and The Hills star Kristin Cavallari.
"I'm trying my hardest," says Arquette. "I am taking this very seriously."
