Leisha Hailey and her girlfriend, Camila Grey, were kicked off a Southwest airplane for kissing one another. The two are members of the band Uh Huh Her, and they are in a romantic relationship, one that has become public since the incident on September 26. Leisha is well known for starring in such shows as "The 'L' Word" as well as for her musical talents.

Leisha took to her Twitter account, @Leisha_Hailey, to express her own personal anger and encourage others to boycott the company that she feels wronged her and discriminates. She tweeted, "This is an outrage. I demand a public apology by Southwest Air and a refund. Hate is not a family value. I will never fly this airline."

She went on to also tweet, "We were escorted off the plane for getting upset about the issue. Southwest Air endorses homophobic employees. No one made her accountable." Leisha added, "Since when is showing affection towards someone you love illegal? I want to know what Southwest Airlines considers as 'family.'"

She went on to ask all the same-sex families that she knows to boycott the airline as she stated, "They don't like us." Also, she promised the airline that she had recorded a lot of their actions during the incident. Her celeb pals and other celebrities who simply support her took to social media to defend her as soon as they heard the story.

Kirstie Alley tweeted on her account, @KirstieAlley, "Hey, Southwest Air, you got mail. You're livin' in the Dark Ages. Very Dark. Won't be flying you, as if I ever did." She added the hash tag of "#Discrimination" as well.

Sandra Bernhard also voiced her opinion. As posted on @SandraBernhard, she stated, "I want my tickets refunded from NYC to Phoenix due to the [Leisha] situation." Her support for Leisha remained consistent in a series of continued tweets.

Kelly Osbourne, the reality show star, singer and newest face of Material Girl, also spoke up against the situation. She tweeted from @MissKellyO, telling Southwest that their archaic thinking makes her sick, and that their discrimination toward passengers is deplorable. She called them out on the situation with Kevin Smith, when the airline famously discriminated against him for his size. She also tweeted about how they had offended other well known passengers, including Billy Joe Armstrong.

Before releasing an official statement, the company tweeted from its account, @SouthwestAir, and directly tweeted Leisha herself, stating, " I'm so sorry! Can you please follow/DM me more details so we can get to the bottom of this? Thanks!"

Then Southwest released an official statement that said, "Initial reports indicate that we received several passenger complaints characterizing the behavior as excessive. Our crew, responsible for the comfort of all Customers on board, approached the passengers based solely on behavior and not gender. The conversation escalated to a level that was better resolved on the ground, as opposed to in flight."

It appears that Leisha and Camila were unimpressed with this statement. The two released their own that said, "No matter how quietly homophobia is whispered, it doesn't make it any less loud. You can't whisper hate." They concluded the statement by saying, "We hope that when all is said and done a greater tolerance without prejudice will evolve."
