4 Celebrities with Boring Cars
Just because you make millions of dollars doesn't mean you have to spend it all on stupid luxuries like expensive cars. There are dozens of celebrities that clearly don't care what they drive.
Here's a look at four celebrities who prefer boring cars to flashy, expensive vehicles.
Sarah Jessica Parker - The "Sex And The City" star has made enough money to drive whatever she wants, but she announced this week that she's a fan of the humble minivan.Parker leases a Honda Odyssey, which she uses to drop her kids off and run normal mom-errands.
"I sing along all day long as I'm driving my minivan, dropping the kids off," Parker told Katie Couric. "Respect the van."
Warren Buffet - Although Warren Buffet is widely known as one of the richest men in the world, he makes a point of being very frugal and careful with his money. After all, you can't really get rich if you're spending all of your cash rather than investing it. He's got a healthy disdain for expensive luxury cars and drove a 2001 Oldsmobile until he decided to support General Motors by purchasing a Cadillac DTS.Although the DTS is certainly a luxury vehicle, it's still less-than-exciting for a billionaire, as it retails around $40,000. There's no word on the appointments, but considering the fact that Buffet doesn't even have a computer at his desk, we're guessing there's no satellite radio. Bummer.
Hanks is a pretty eco-conscious celebrity, so it's no surprise that he drives a fuel efficient car. He drives a Toyota Prius, which is capable of getting up to 50 miles to the gallon, so he's paying less at the pump (although he's probably not as concerned about a few extra cents per gallon as the rest of us).The Prius isn't too powerful and it isn't very flashy, but it's gained a lot of admirers in Hollywood. Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson have all owned the boring, reliable Prius at one point or another.
Conan O'Brien - The talk show host drives a 1992 SHS Taurus, which is arguably the most boring car on this list. It's light on the features, but it does have a car phone from 1989.O'Brien's hardly ashamed of his vehicle, though--it matches his personality, and he's used his beloved Taurus for bits on his show, including one memorable bit in which he tested the car against Ford's 2010 Taurus.
