There are definite downsides to being a celebrity. For one, every one knows that you make a lot of money, so good security is important. Between the robbers and the stalkers, having a bit of fame can be a nerve-wracking experience. The good news is that the bad guys aren't always too clever, and sometimes their methods are so strange that you have to wonder what they were thinking.

Here's a look at three celebrities who have dealt with bizarre robbery plots.

Joss Stone - The singer made headlines this week when two men were accused of a conspiracy to rob the singer and commit "grievous bodily harm." The men haven't entered pleas; they were discovered with samurai swords and notes mentioning Stone after acting suspiciously. It's been reported that the men were planning on kidnapping and maybe even murdering stone.

While Stone apparently hasn't let the incident get to her--she says she's getting on with life as normal--it would be enough to rattle anybody. But samurai swords? Really? No celebrity should have to worry about ninjas.

David Letterman -

Letterman has been the target of stalking and extortion plots, which explains his nonchalant attitude towards a break-in at the Ed Sullivan Theater on July 10th. Letterman didn't even call off his show despite $5,000 in damage inflicted by the drunken vandal. In fact, Letterman spent a good portion of the program mocking the would-be burglar.

The alleged robber claims that he has no memory of the incident. He claims that he was drunk, and his lawyer notes that he certainly wasn't planning on inflicting the damage, but it doesn't look like Letterman's going to let him forget it anytime soon.

Dolph Lundgren - Dolph is best known for his role as an unbeatable Russian boxer in "Rocky III," which may explain why thieves ran away in terror from his Spanish home after realizing whose house they were in.

They tied up Dolph's wife and threatened her to get information about the home's valuables, but once they learned that they were in the karate black belt's mansion, they ran away with their tails between their legs.

We feel sorry for Dolph and his wife, but we also feel sort of sorry for the thieves. It's got to be tough to live your life worrying that Dolph Lundgren is going to appear behind you at any second for revenge.
