Celebrities express grief, surprise at singer's death

(AP) - Hollywood celebrities say they're shocked and saddened to hear of singer Amy Winehouse's death.

The 27-year-old Grammy winner was found dead Saturday by ambulance crews called to her home in north London's Camden area. The cause of death was not immediately known.

Producer Mark Ronson, who has worked closely with the singer, says she was his "musical soulmate." He says it's 1 of the "saddest days of my life."

Many celebrities took to Twitter to express condolences. Actress Demi Moore tweeted that her heart goes out to Winehouse's family, adding "May her troubled soul find peace."

Singer and actress Kelly Osbourne tweeted that she lost 1 of her best friends. And American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson called the death, "a waste of a gifted person."
