Anthony will someday get her just rewards - News Herald

Once again in America we have all been involved in a situation where we are divided in our opinion regarding the guilt or innocence of Casey Anthony in the death of her daughter Caylee.

While found not guilty, Casey Anthony will never be physically free no matter where she goes in this world. Since the entire world has watched the proceedings, people from everywhere know her. She is a celebrity. She will be looking over her shoulder wherever she happens to be. While she might not be locked up in a jail cell somewhere, she is locked up to the extent that there are those who would take her life in an instant.

She will never again be socially free. She is a party animal. But no longer will she be able to be on the dance floor and partying with her peers. Once again, there will be those in the club who believe that she killed her daughter and they are extremely angry and mad that Casey got away with murder.

She will never again be mentally free. During the trial, which I watch intently every day on Headline News, she showed emotion, which tells me that she does have some feelings regarding the loss of her daughter. She would not look at the photos of the location where Caylees body was found when they were shown in the courtroom.

As to conscience, I quote from the dictionary in my Bible: The Christian belief is that we are born with a natural capacity to distinguish between right and wrong due to our original creation in the image of God. We have a faculty called conscience by means of which we can pass judgment on our own conduct, either approving or condemning it. Its possession at once makes us responsible beings. Like other faculties, it needs to be trained, and may be deadened through misuse. In court, Casey Anthony proved that she is a pathological liar.

The only freedom that Casey Anthony can possibly know in this life is spiritual freedom. According to the Holy Bible, there is only one sin for which a person cannot be forgiven and that is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit (Luke 12:10). What that means is a question that has been studied, analyzed, argued and talked about by scholars and students of the Bible since God knows when.

In the final analysis of this case, unfortunately, the evidence did not prove beyond a reasonable doubt, that Casey Anthony murdered her daughter. However, in the end, vengeance is mine saith the Lord. Rest assured, Casey Anthony will someday get her just rewards.

I feel like Alice in Wonderland, awakening in a strange world, where everything is not as it should be. Mr. Pat Tagney (Anthony prosecution failed to prove its case, letter, July 7) wants us to know a little girl is dead. Someone killed her and Casey Anthony can never be tried again for this murder.

You are so right, Mr. Tagney, a beautiful young child was murdered. She didnt commit suicide. Whether you believe her mother is guilty or not is not the question. A murderer is walking free. You seem to think that it was a game, a chess match, perhaps between the state and defense counsels. Trials are not games.

I have some legal exposure, but I certainly dont have all the answers. I do know that in a major jury trial, jurors can be terribly wrong. Jury selection is a science and an art, and experts in this field are paid large sums of money just to pick jurors who are sympathetic to the defense or prosecution cause.

In this trial, obviously the defense did the best job of jury selection. The jurors completely ignored forensic evidence, and since there was no smoking gun decided in favor of the defense.

I dont have a solution, but a jury of our peers has failed again and resulted in a terrible miscarriage of justice. At least Caylee is in a better home.
