SANTA BARBARAThe Escalades and Audis have arrived at the Santa Barbara Polo and Racquet Club and the celebrities are nervous about meeting Will and Kate.

Billy Zane, Rosario Dawson and Jennifer Love Hewitt have all walked the red carpet so far. A decidedly different entourage than prime minister Stephen Harper, governor general David Johnston, and Quebec premier Jean Charest.

Its the most nerve-racking thing Ive ever dressed for, Jennifer Love Hewitt said, wearing a simple navy blue dress, and no hat.

Im a Kate fan, big time, and Im also a Prince William fan, and Ive never seen polo so Im excited.

VIP tickets to the event cost $4000. The cheap seats, with no chance of meeting the couple were $400. Proceeds from the event will go to the American Friends of the Foundation of Prince WIlliam and Prince Harry.

Shes so elegant and I love that she feels like a real person, its such a coveted thing...I want to be her bestie, Love-Hewitt said.

The star of 90s drama Party of Five said she doesnt think shell be able to speak if she meets them.

Do I curtsey, shake her hand?

In the $400 section, Lara Mitchell and Ernie Mitchell were ready with a telephoto lens.

It doesnt get any higher than this, Lara said. Theres stars here, but not everybody can be a royal. Its a bloodline.
