"I went to Rome when I was inter-railing with my brother and we sought out this beautiful, old pensione near the Pantheon. Just as we were walking up the stairs to get to the first-floor reception we were suddenly pressed against the wall as they were bringing a stiff down the stairs. It was on a stretcher with a sheet over it. At the reception they told us: 'Your room could take some time to clean up.' We just hightailed it out of there."
