Enchong Dee donates blood; Ynna Asistio, Cristine Reyes fall ill

MANILA, Philippines Young actor Enchong Dee has risen above his fear of needles and donated blood for dengue victims last Aug. 16 at the Department of Health (DOH) office in Manila.

Malaki pala yung needle compared yung kapag injection lang. Mas masakit yung kagat ng lamok para sa akin, said the Kapamilya actor on TV Patrol, Aug. 16.

Enchong made the move in response to the recent call of the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC) for more blood donors due to the escalating number of dengue victims in the country.

This is the second time Enchong has donated blood, noted the report.

Having been inflicted with dengue twice in the pastit hit him on separate years but both on Aug. 15, as Enchong notedthe actor and champ swimmer is aware of how serious, if not, deadly, the illness could be.

Since feeling ko naman healthy ako this year at hindi ako magkaka-dengue, mag-give back naman ako nang kaunti para pagbigyan ako ni Lord na huwag ako magkasakit this year, said he.

Enchong, whos keen on doing more blood donations in the future, also urged his fellow celebrities to do the same, added the TV Patrol report.

In related news, young actress Ynna Asistio was diagnosed with dengue last Aug. 14.

In her tweet last Aug. 16, Ynna recalled waking up with a fever last Aug. 12 in Zambales where they were taping for afternoon drama series "Sisid."

Despite feeling sick that day, Ynna pushed through with a mall show in Urdaneta, Pangasinan. She noted, though, that, I didn't get to finish the show because I had very high fever

She followed her tweet with, next day saturday I had taping for sisid at paranaque.. High fever again then sunday I attended party P[ilipinas]... After party P I had my blood test.. Positive dengue..

Ynna has not yet been confined to the hospital as of this writing. In another tweet last Tuesday, the Kapuso talent said, s house lang papadextrose ako new era (hospital) then s house nako...

She gave an update on her condition on the early afternoon of Aug. 17 through these tweets:

Ynna is determined to bounce back from dengue so that she can resume working.

Kapamilya star Cristine Reyes is likewise down due to illness at present. In an ABS-CBN News report, the sexy actress has been confined at the hospital since Aug. 11 due to high fever.

Nevetheless, the report cited that her doctors had already cleared the actress of dengue. This information was shared by Jun Rufino, publicist of Viva, the company that manages Cristine's career.

Actress Ara Mina related to Bulletin Entertainment on Aug. 17 via Twitter that her younger sister is doing "ok." She, however, did not disclose the hospital where Cristine is confined "kasi pinapalimit lang visitors."

On Aug. 16, Cristine asked her supporters for prayers via Twitter.
