The 2011 MTV Video Music Awards are in the books - and wasn't it quite the show? We had Gaga in drag, a Beyonce pregnancy announcement and our first look at the upcoming film "Hunger Games."
No, there wasn't any Kanye West drama, but there's still plenty to talk - and tweet - about from this year's show.
Britney Spears was the Queen of the night. Artists like Lady Gaga and Katy Perry paid tribute to her and gave her a Lifetime Achievement Award for her short career.
"Can't believe tonight was even real! Forever grateful to my dedicated, wonderful fans - y'all made this evening possible. Love u!" Spears tweeted after the show. She even told her boyfriend, Jason Trawick, that she loved him while accepting her award.
Justin Bieber had quite the night at the MTV VMAs: his girlfriend, Selena Gomez, interviewed him, before the show and he went on to win a Moonman for his song, "U Smile."
"But honestly i am a fan of all the nominees...so @brunomars @eminem @ceelogreen and @kanyewest i share this one with u. #HONORED #wildnight" Bieber tweeted.
He also brought a little friend to the show: his pet snake named Johnson.
"Thank you to everyone who showed support and congrats to all the nominees. #johnson was a hit. #swag. haha. #wildnight #didthatjusthappen"
A cartoonish Katy Perry made waves at the awards, both for her nominations (she had nine) and her outfits for the night (hello, Yellow Blockhead!)
It turns out, Perry gets the courage to rock her crazy wardrobe with a little help from her friend, Jose Cuervo. She copped to having a shot before the night began, and later tweeted about it - along with a babysitting offer for Beyonce and Jay-Z.
"Also...@Beyonce me & @rustyrockets are avail to baby sit anytime! We'z real responsible...ish :P #HIPGOPBABY," she tweeted. "I meant to say #HIPHOPBABY... But these damn press ons and tequila shots..."
Oh Katy - that's why we love you.
Rapper Nicki Minaj was the talk of the VMAs with her Lady Gaga-esque outfit. However, she was all about giving the love to the fans with her win.
"Thank u guys!!! Love u barbz!" she tweeted. "And thank u Esther Dean & Kane!!!! Totally 4got to mention two of the most vital parts of Super Bass!!!! Muah!"
