MTV's 27th annual Video Music Awards aired Aug. 28 at 9 p.m. EST and while there was plenty of excitement at the event, the biggest news of the night was definitely Beyonce's confirmed pregnancy.

During the show, which was held in the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, many stars took to Twitter to congratulate Jay-Z and Beyonce publicly.

Pink, who recently became a mother herself, offered the couple congratulations and advice: "What an adorable way to announce a baby:) congratulations beyonce and jay z! Get your sleep now."

Newlywed Kim Kardashian, who told MTV News that Beyonce's big reveal was her favorite moment of the night, also expressed her excitement on Twitter: "I'm sooo happy for Beyonce & Jay Z!!!! Be's preggo!!! Congrats!"

Kourtney Kardashian followed in her sister's footsteps, offering her thoughts as a mother: "So excited for Beyonce and Jay! Life will become sooooo much sweeter."

After wowing the VMA crowd with his performance, Chris Brown also chimed in: "Congrats on the baby B and Jay"

Katy Perry, who kept busy tweeting throughout the VMA's with such comments as "Whether I win or lose I'm gonna floss like a boss tonight #VMAS" and "Too many dress options! #vmagirlproblems!!!" joined in to offer the parents-to-be her own babysitting services: "Also... @Beyonce me & @rustyrockets are avail to baby sit anytime! We'z real responsible...ish :P #HIPGOPBABY." She later corrected herself, explaining that #HIPGOPBABY was a typo: "I meant to say #HIPHOPBABY... But these damn press ons and tequila shots, shit."

And though Rainn Wilson didn't tweet about the VMA's or specifically about Beyonce's new baby bump, earlier in the weekend it seems as if he were able to predict Beyonce's announcement. In an Aug. 27th tweet, he wrote: "I'm obsessed with celebrity baby bumps and celebrity post-baby weight loss. Gonna start impregnating some celebrities." Hmmm... Could "The Office" funny man have had something to do with Beyonce's pregnancy?

While celebrity tweets may have been the most interesting congratulations Jay-Z and Beyonce received, they certainly weren't the only ones. Fans of both stars offered their thoughts and congratulations via Twitter, creating the trend "BEYONCE IS PREGNANT."

What are your thoughts on Beyonce's pregnancy? Was her announcement your favorite part of the 2011 VMA's?
