Golfers can rub elbows with well-known athletes at a celebrity golf tournament Friday.

Orlando Commissioner Sam Ings is hosting the Red Tie Celebrity Golf Extravaganza to raise money for community programs in his district.

The celebrity list includes former Orlando Magic players Nick Anderson, Bo Outlaw, Chucky Atkins, and Courtney Lee (now of the Houston Rockets); TNT sports announcer Craig Sager; Commissioner Patty Sheehan; artist Gilbert Young; Police Chief Paul Rooney; and PGA pro Brad Brewer.

"You can have fun and enjoy a nice day of golf at Shingle Creek," Ings said. "At the same time, you can feel good about doing something to help the seniors and youth of District 6."

There's a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Friday at Rosen Shingle Creek Golf Club, 9939 Universal Blvd. The cost is $125, or $475 for a foursome. Players can register in advance at (407) 246-3016, or sign up at the event.
