Harry Kalas Statue Unveiling on Tuesday
NOTE: Standing Room Only tickets will go on sale at 4:00 p.m. for games on August 16-18.

ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS (August 16-18)

TUESDAY: 7:05 p.m. ... Gate openings: Ashburn Alley - 4:35 p.m.; Other gates - 5:35 p.m. ... Broadcast: PHL17 featuring live coverage of Kalas statue unveiling starting at 6:30 p.m. with host Tom McCarthy, MLBN, WPHT 1210, WUBA 1480 AM (Spanish).

  • SugarHouse Casino Placido Polanco Figurine for all fans.
  • Police Athletic League Night & Media Celebrity Softball Game, 5:30 p.m.
  • Harry Kalas Statue Unveiling, 6:40 p.m., live on PHL17 and phillies.com. A statue dedicated to the memory of Phillies Hall of Fame broadcaster Harry Kalas will be unveiled during a special pregame ceremony. The fan-funded statue will also be presented to the Phillies.
    • Special guests include: Hall of Famer Steve Carlton, Phillies Wall of Famer Greg Luzinski, Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins, Phillies General Manager Ruben Amaro Jr., Senior Advisor to the General Manager Dallas Green, and broadcasters Larry Andersen, Gary Matthews and Chris Wheeler, Richard Ashburn (son of Richie Ashburn), Kane Kalas (son of Harry Kalas), and Julie and Travis Vanwey (stepchildren of Harry Kalas).
    • Participants include: Lawrence J. Nowlan, the statue's sculptor, as well as Todd Palmer and Suzanne Norris from Dear Harry, Inc., the fan-based group organized solely to fund the statue. Accepting on the team's behalf will be Phillies Senior Vice President, Administration and Operations Michael Stiles.
    • Other highlights include High Hopes, sung by Eddie Bruce at the conclusion of the ceremony...and God Bless America, sung by Kane Kalas (7th inning).
    • The statue will be located on the Main Concourse behind Section 141, near Harry the K's restaurant.
  • State Farm Go to Bat Award presented to Sister Mary Scullion, co-founder and executive director of Project H.O.M.E.

WEDNESDAY: 7:05 p.m. ... Gate openings: Ashburn Alley - 4:35 p.m.; Other gates - 5:35 p.m. ... Broadcast: CSN, ESPN, WPHT 1210, WUBA 1480 AM (Spanish).

  • Rotary Strike Out Hunger Night & Food Drive collection at entrance gates. National Anthem: Willingboro Rotary Choir.
  • RBI Recognition Night. Phillies RBI All-Star teams, presented by Turkey Hill Dairy, will be introduced prior to the game. Also honored will be softball player Emily Ashbridge, who was awarded a college scholarship by the national RBI program.
  • Central Bucks High School East Marching Band will perform pregame.
  • State Farm Go to Bat Award presented to Comcast SportsNet talent Marshall Harris for his work with Students Run Philly Style.

On-field performances include: Klingon Klez Band and The Amazing Bottle Dancers...National Anthem: Sung by Laura Warren and Danielle Lichter, winners of the Jewish Federation Israel 63-A Song in Our Hearts Competition... Left Field Gate: Ken Ulansey/Stan Slotter Klezmer Ensemble ... 7th Inning: Take Me Out to the Ballgame performed in Yiddish.
