ANNASOPHIA IS ON BOARD WEARING NICE BIKINI

She plays a teenage surfer who braves the ocean after a tragic shark attack in her latest film and AnnaSophia Robb appears to have developed a passion for waves in real life too.

The actress was spotted paddle surfing in Oahu, Hawaii, in a tiny bikini, and seemed to have picked up a few skills from the film Soul Surfer.

She was hitting the beach in-between promoting the movie's DVD release, which comes out this weekend and has been making the most of the Pacific Ocean while in Hawaii.

In the film, the 17-year-old takes on the role of Bethany Hamilton, who at just 13-years-old lost her arm after being attacked by a shark.

After the tragic attack in 2003, Bethany courageously got back on her surf board and became a champion.

The film was released in cinemas at the end of March and both Bethany, now 21, and Annasophia attended the red carpet premiere.

And the girls, who became good friends while filming, were spending time together in Oahu on the beach.

Robb tweeted yesterday: 'On oahu with Bethany! Going to a beach screening of Soul Surfer tonight. I wanna move to hawai'i!'

And she later thanked fans for her Teen Choice Award nomination for her role and the film is also nominated for an ESPY Award.

Helen Hunt, Dennis Quaid and American Idol winner Carrie Underwood also star in the film based on the true story.

The Teen Choice Award nominees were announced last month and were dominated by The Twilight Saga, Glee and Justin Bieber.

But AnnaSophia Robb nabbed a nomination for favourite drama actress for Soul Surfer.

She has some tough competition though and is up against Natalie Portman for Black Swan, Minka Kelly for The Roommate and Reese Witherspoon for her role in Water For Elephants.

Meanwhile, Miss Robb, who also starred in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as Violet Beauregarde in 2005, has another film due out next year.

She has a role in the fantasy adventure Pan, which is a spin on J.M. Barrie's tale of Peter Pan, where Pan is a villain being hunted by a police captain named Hook.
